Hiring for a Summer Legal Intern

Mar. 24, 2025: SLCY seeks a passionate and collaborative Legal Intern, committed to social justice and anti-racism, to support our efforts to provide direct representation to young people in the Atlanta Metro Area. Applicants should be law students based in the Atlanta metro area with internet access, a computer, and a phone.

Work will include, but is not limited to: intakes and client interviews, assessing client needs, investigation and research, coordination of Legal Clinics, and providing administrative support. The common legal issues that SLCY handles are: landlord tenant/evictions, minor guardianships, orders of protection, emancipations, truancies, navigating child welfare systems, vital documents, record-sealing, immigration, name and gender marker changes, identity theft and credit counseling, and public benefits.

Seeking a Volunteer Board Treasurer

Feb. 17, 2025: SLCY is seeking a volunteer Treasurer for its Board of Directors. The ideal candidate will have a passion for social justice, fiscal responsibility, and anti-racism, and will be committed to supporting our mission of providing legal services to marginalized youth in the Atlanta Metro Area. The Treasurer will play a critical role in overseeing financial health, budgeting, and fundraising strategies for our nonprofit organization, ensuring that SLCY’s financial practices align with its goals and values.
